Cover reveal and fb event today for my cover reveal!!!

Hi all!

So, I'm going to do something different today. I'm doing a cover reveal for MYSELF!

Some of you may know I've been working on a book about a 'cousin' in Brazil. Well, it's finished and live on Amazon but I'm doing a fb event to reveal the cover today at: https://www.facebook.com/events/179071925774623/

I am so excited about this book. I even have it translated into Portuguese as my 'cousin' doesn't speak English and I'd like her to be able to enjoy it too! Here is the cover:

Synopsis:

A young woman from Rio de Janiero, Brazil wakes up in a mausoleum to find herself all alone with no memory. When the vampire Thomas rescues her, he treats her like the child he never had. However, when Ranato comes into Christiane’s life, she knows she’s in love and leaves Thomas. Is Ranato all that he seems to be or does he have a more sinister plan for her? Will other forces help her or work against her?  Will she be able to stay alive and find true happiness? Do you like Egyptian mythology? Then this book is for you.

You can find me at:

Hope you enjoy it!

Editing!!!

Hi all!!!

I just wanted to let you know that I finished my edits on Vampiro do Brasil and have sent it off to my editor, Jessica Sawa who is fantastic! I'm also waiting on the final version of the cover and will do a huge cover reveal party on facebook between Thanksgiving and Christmas sometime so I'll keep you updated. Please sign up for my newsletter for the latest updates! I'm so excited! I can't wait and I'm especially excited that it will be available in Portuguese for all my friends in Brasil so they can read it too since it's set in Brasil! Once I get the edits back, I'm going to start translating it while I wait for the covers. I've never done this before so it's all very exciting for me! I miss Brasil so much!!! I only lived there for 6 months in 1991 but it feels just like yesterday! I still have an entire box of stuff I brought back from Brasil that I was looking through the other day. Ah, the memories! My only regret is that I broke my foot and had to return before Carnival which is bigger and better than Mardi Gras in New Orleans I'm told. One day I'll get back there. I just recently connected with a bunch of my school friends from 1991 which was a ton of fun! I know Christiane, the girl the book is based on is also excited for the book. She said she'd always wanted to be a vampire and my book is making her just that so she can't wait for the release of the Portuguese version as she doesn't speak English! I tried to incorporate as much of her life that I could in the book...sometimes using names that related to people for her without even knowing.

My next project, might, be a script as it would be a great movie! The story is already written so I just need to turn it into a movie script. I have a great friend, Thom Futrell who is a screenwriter and said he'd help me which I just might have to take him up on it. It's a vampire (of course) horror story, also set in Brasil (see a theme here?) or I may start book two of Vampiro do Brasil...yes, I ended it on a cliffhanger...sorry to those that don't like that but I enjoy it and hopefully gets you to buy both books! I just don't know how I'm going to top book 1! My mind is working overtime so my sleeping schedule is crazy as I can't turn my brain off. Sometimes I have to get up in the middle of the night to write down dreams I've had to include in the story. Ahhhhh, the life of an Author!!!!

My fav part

Hi all!

Just wanted to update you on Vampiro do Brasil. It's finished like I said before. Now I'm just doing my own edits before I sent it off to my wonderful Editor-In-Chief, Jessica Sawa!!! She's chomping at the bit to get the book. 'Spoke' with the Cover Artist and she'll have some options for me to look at after this weekend (Lindsey Jayne)!

I thought you might like to see what I'm listening to while writing and editing. Unfortunately for you, it's all in Portuguese but I understand it fine and it brings back such great memories:

All but one are Fabio Jr. who was very young when this album came out. The last song is from the show Vamp on their novella tv when I lived there (It was about vampires, obviously, but that's why I loved the show even when I could't speak the language yet). I managed to get all the episodes on dvd so I've been watching them too (or at least listening to them while I do my work)!

I'm so excited about this book that there is going to be a second one. Sorry folks, but book one ends on a cliffhanger but I assure you the sequel won't be too far behind.

Today is Veteran's Day so please thank a Veteran. My dad was in the Army and my hubby was in the Navy.

That's all for now!

Finished!

Hi all!

Just wanted to give you an update on Vampiro do Brasil! I'm officially finished with the book and have ideas to make it a sequel! Now, it's just editing for me which always takes me a while as I tend to re-write scenes, add things, change things, etc. Got a great resolution for the cemetery picture for the cover, which Lindsey Jayne is working on me with my pics! Can't wait to see it! Once it's published, I'm going to be translating the entire book into Portuguese and sending it to some friends in Brasil! I'm so excited but this is the part I hate the most. Also, was able to find some old friends in Brasil thanks to a pic I sent my 'sister' so I've been on facebook connecting with them instead of editing. That damn fb wormhole! lol

Anyway, just wanted to let you know where I am. There's another man that comes into Christiane's life in the end of the story and here was my inspiration:

Can't tell you what his role is yet...you're going to have to read the book to find out!

I'm going to be doing a fb event sometime when things come together so keep an eye out for that!

I almost forgot! I now have a logo, thanks to Brandi Kennedy!

Next in Vampiro do Brasil!!

Hi all!!!

Just wanted to give you a quick update on my progress. I have about 24,000 words and I'm just working on my marry way to the end. I was hoping to be done by Christmas and I'm pretty sure I'm going to achieve that goal. I finally found and got permission from Ivo Korytowski to use his picture of the St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Rio de Janiero, Brazil (for the cover) which is famous and where my main characters' ancestors had their houses in real life. Here's the pic:

I'm still looking for a second man for my story. I'm looking for long dark hair and light eyes. Right now I might use the below pic but the search is still on. I'll let you know when I find the perfect one.

Let me know what you think or if you have a better pic for my inspiration!

Happy Halloween!!!!!!

Vampiro do Brasil Part 1

Hi all!

I haven't really kept up with my blogging on here but I wanted to share with you my newest project. When I lived in Brasil for 6 months during high school, it made lasting impressions on me including my 'family'. Well, now, 24 years later, I have found my 'sister' on facebook. Her cousin found out about me and contacted me. We have developed a great relationship though she speaks little English. Luckily, I still remember a lot of Portuguese and we've been PM'ing a lot.

I had not been writing as I seemed to have writer's block and was uninspired. Then one day, my 'cousin', Christiane posted a pic of her. When I showed my hubby, he and I immediately said, "Vampire"! The more and more I looked at it, the more inspired I became. I wanted to use it as the cover for my next book and after getting an excited 'yes' from her, I started writing the story. Most of it is in English but has some in Portuguese. She agreed to correct my Portuguese and was thrilled to be part of the project. She said, "I've always wanted to be a vampire and now here you are putting a cape on me, I'm so happy". She had originally contacted me because I am a vampire Author and she wanted to read my books my 'sister' had spoken about. Unfortunately, since she doesn't speak much English, it was hard for her. I looked into getting a book transcribed into Portuguese and it's about $9,000 so that won't be happening any time soon.

Thus started my current work where I can proudly use both languages. With her permission, I have even named my main character after her. I sent her the first almost 4 chapters and she was excited by it. Here's the pic that inspired me:

Christiane is such a great woman. With 2 grown children and a 3 year old, she owns her own photography company which she runs out of her house. She's just an amazing and cool lady.

I'm hoping to have the book out by the beginning of the year, just depends on how fast I can get the story put together. I have so many ideas so hopefully it will come out as great as I'm expecting! There's so many things I want to incorporate, mythology, witches, vampires (of course) and the country of Brasil! So much research, so little time but I'm loving every minute of it!

Once I have it almost ready, I will be holding a facebook event to promote it with Author takeovers, trivia, giveaways and plenty of prizes so keep your eyes peeled around the end of the year. Well, I'm off to keep working on the story, Vampiro do Brasil! Let me know what you think!

Author Lindsey Jayne and Conquering the Witch: Book 2 of the Faction Series

Hi all!

I want you to help me give a warm welcome to a great new friend, Lindsey Jayne today on my blog.

Her new book, Conquering the Witch was just released today! You don't want to miss these 2 books and there's the final installment being worked on as we speak. Oh, I can't wait!!
Here's the information about book 2!

Synopsis/blurb for Book 2 - Conquering the Witch

How do you take control of your present, when the past threatens to destroy you?

Four weeks have gone by since Elora Lincoln’s kidnap. Four weeks since evil witch, Cassandra tried to murder her and sacrifice her unborn child in the name of her deadly beliefs.
Elora is fighting on, determined to be able to protect the ones she loves from her enemies, getting to grips with the magic gifted to her from a long line of Superior white witches, and learning to cope with what happened to her and her daughter.
Not to mention her ex-boyfriend, Daniel’s bloody attack on DCI Amelia Ellis.
Nightmares of the brutal assault plague her, but not only that, something from her past is trying to warn her – but warn her of what? She struggles to understand.

Cassandra is still on the loose, and Faction General, Lucas and his team must align with another group to track her down before she succeeds in one of her ungodly schemes.
And then the unthinkable happens.
Cassandra kidnaps Elora again and, this time, she is taking no chances. The white witch has something she wants, and it isn’t just her baby.
As Elora lives through indescribable acts of torment orchestrated by the two people intent on bringing on her complete destruction, the Faction’s Second-in-Command, Deacon must battle unspeakable powers to save her once again.
But it’s not that easy.
Another force battles against them all, and it’s a lot closer to home than they think.

Here's my review for book 2:
This book was even better than the first one! The story carried over seamlessly. The Author has a way of writing that just draws you in and makes you feel like the story is happening around you.
You have the synopsis above so I'll let you read that as I don't want to give anything away! The emotions in this book run very high. I found myself living and dying with every word. The connection the Author establishes between reader and characters is refreshing and hard to do but she does it very well. This book is also an A+++ and I can't wait to read the third and final (boohoo) book where hopefully everyone gets there comeuppances!

Synopsis/blurb for Book 1 - Invoking the Witch

A group of women have a dark and forbidding goal in mind.
They want to raise hell, and they’re murdering witches and sacrificing their unborn babies in the name of their deadly beliefs.

General Lucas Drake leads a unit of elite, vampire warriors known as the Faction, tasked with safeguarding the apprised human population against anything immorally supernatural. So when Lucas gets the call that pregnant women are being murdered in a manner suggesting witchcraft he enlists the help of paranormally-adept DCI Amelia Ellis and her team.
Together they discover a horror with frightening complications involving black magic, death and sacrifice, but to what end? How do they find who’s committing such brutal atrocities with no leads and time running out?

Pregnant Elora Lincoln is a young woman trapped in an abusive relationship. When the abuse turns violent, Elora leaves him, but not before her mentally malicious boyfriend tells her that they are coming for her, and she had better watch out. They will stop at nothing until they get what they want – by any means necessary.
In order to protect her from Daniel she is taken to the Compound – a secured building that houses the General and his team.

But how does Elora fit into all of this? Is she another pawn in this game? The answers lie in her ghostly past.
Beyond scared she seeks comfort in the arms of Deacon, The General’s second in command. He promises to protect her, but fails when she is kidnapped from right in front of him. After discovering what is in store for her, can Deacon save her in time before she becomes another victim in this dark game?

Here's my review for book 1:
Invoking the Witch was the perfect title for this book! I found myself in this story as one of the characters and could easily relate to the story. It was if the Author wrote it just for me which I not easy to do.
**NO SPOILERS HERE**
Pregnant women are disappearing and when they are found, their babies have been cut from their wombs. Spring into action Ameila, DCI, who has been assigned to solve these murders. The things she sees, battles she has to make it through along with the sexual tension between her and Blake are enough to make her crazy. Nothing in her past cases have prepared her for this case.
The Author, Lindsey Jayne’s writing is wonderful and relatable. She has a way of drawing the reader in, gripping you and pulling you through the book. I started reading the book and could barely function until I could read more. It’s a story that’s stuck with me and probably one of the best Paranormal stories I’ve read in a long time. She’s got a new book called Allegra’s Song, an erotic tale and I can’t wait to read it also. Hope she does more of The Faction Series, Invoking the Witch is just the beginning. She leaves it on a cliffhanger so if you like books that are all tidied up in the end, this one is not for you but it’ll convert you. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series!!! A++++ book!!

Author Bio:

Lindsey lives in Derby, England with her partner, Simon and their Bedlington Terrier, Huxley

While she loves to read and write, she also likes to shop for expensive luxuries she likely doesn't need, with money she definitely does not have! In order to fund her addiction, she works full time as a Recruitment Consultant.

When she isn't indulging in a spot of retail therapy, she can be found glued to some form of computer playing one 'shoot 'em up' game or another! She also likes painting, photography, interior design and psychology.

She isn't a complete hermit, though. She also loves to spend time with her family, friends and loved ones doing any number of socially acceptable (most of the time) things.

She is a huge fan of paranormal, thrillers and erotic fiction. And if all three are combined, she is in heaven. Especially when it comes to Alpha males!!!
