Cover Art 2!

I was just contacted by the cover artist who had a preliminary cover ready for me to see. So far, it looks awesome! I had a few minor things I'd like to change and emailed her back about those. I'm waiting to hear back from her. I'm so excited! It's one step closer to the book being here. The editor also contacted me and said she was starting on my story and would be in touch if she needed to change anything. Hopefully they won't butcher it much! LOL! Anyways, Happy Holidays to you and yours! Talk to you all soon!

Cover Art!

I just got word from the Eternal Press cover art supervisor. She said that I should hear from a cover artist  about 60-90 days before my book is released. Finally! Some kind of timeframe! I'm still trying to get ideas together for what I should have on the table at my book signings (personalized pens, personalized fortune cookies, etc). Let me know what you think I should have on there. I've been working my butt off doing reviews. I now have 2 companies I'm reviewing for and it's really helped me learn what kind of stories each publisher is looking for. Besides, I love to read and when hubby's at work it makes good use of my time since I'd just spend it sitting in a corner missing him otherwise :). Well, off to read some more!

The Reluctant Vampire...new website!

Hi all!
I just wanted to let you all know I've been working very hard at doing reviews and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I love to read and I love to write so putting them together is the perfect job for me! Also, I took my self-published book, The Reluctant Vampire and added to the website called Smashwords. There, they pass your book around to all the big seller companies and do their own reviews so hopefully I'll get more buyers than on lulu but you'll still be able to purchase it on either site. The new site to purchase it is www.smashwords.com/books/view/28092 and I made it $2 cheaper on there! I'm still working on The Vampire Queen with the publishing house it's just that they are taking their good old sweet time and I'm getting antsy so I'm trying to find things to keep me busy. Been on kind of a writing dry spell for a couple weeks too. DON'T FORGET! Tomorrow is my author day at http://www.tonyasramblings.com/ so you will get to see my work there all day long so check back frequently. TTFN!

First Review

So, I signed up to do book reviews with You Gotta Read and last night I got my first assignment. The book was so good I read the entire thing in one night and wrote the review. It was really great! I felt a great sense of accomplishment, got to actually sit down and read something (compared to just mindlessly browsing the internet) and help out a fellow author. Unfortunately, the book has already been printed and is available online so I'm not sure how they're going to use my review but I had fun doing it. Of course, the subject matter was vampires and paranormal activity with a strong female heroine. That's totally me! I'm so excited and can't wait to do my next one!

Self published book!

Hey all!
I tried to do one of those self publishing places, http://www.lulu.com/ and did a self publishing of my The Reluctant Vampire appropriate for teens and up. This was my first non adult exclusive vampire book so sometimes it was hard to not revert back to adult material but the finished product turned out awesome! I hope you all check it out and let me know what you think about it. Keep in mind that I had no editor or cover artist, I had to do it all myself. I think I did a pretty good job! Please read it and comment back to let me know your thoughts or reviews! It is already available for $5.99 at http://www.lulu.com/!

Waiting!

Hello All!
Well, the contracts have been signed and returned to both parties. The publishing company has made me an official member of their"authors only" yahoo group where I can meet fellow Eternal Press authors with whom I can network with, learn from and group links to learn more. The book release date will probably be April 7, 2011 for the ebooks and then the paperbacks come out 2-3 weeks later. I'm still waiting to meet my assigned editor and work with them. Also, I'm very excited to start working with the Artist who will be doing my cover art! I've been looking into local companys to help me promote my book with free supplies for a nod on my website. So far, I've had a few things come through but not like I'd hoped. If anyone knows someone who could help, I'd greatly appreciate it and would put them on my website. My book is going to be available at all the online bookstores (Amazon, Barnes and Nobles and many other avenues). I plan on doing some local book signings once the paperbacks come out so I'll keep you updated on that front as well.
I must go before dawn arrives! Until then...

My Book Preview

The Vampire Queen

A young woman awakes to find out not only is she an important Countess but she is also the very first or 'Ancient One' as she is called by her subjects. Her memories of being a vampire or anyone are gone so she must relearn everything (from spells to flying) from the people around her, but can they be trusted? She also learns her main objective as the old Countess was purifying the vampire race and wishes to continue with that work. The 'Others', powerful and evil vampires, attempt to use her memory loss to their advantage. They had been trying to entice her to their side for centuries. Struggling to remember her past, battling the 'Others' and coping with her new life keep the Countess busy throughout this spellbinding and thrilling novel. Will she succeed in her goals or will the 'Others' win her over to their side this time around?
